Set within the trees in Huntsville, this addition joins an existing cottage through a breezeway framed by a floor-to-ceiling window. The great room rises past 20 feet, centred on a microcement fireplace with an oversized wood-burning insert, flanked by white oak paneling and a built-in window seat. Beamed oak ceilings carry into the kitchen, where bullnose stone counters top a fluted island with open shelving. Together they pair cottage warmth with contemporary restraint, made for long family weekends.
